I've been shouting about the silver linings happening in the past couple of weeks, but neglected to mention the 'dark side'.
In the same time period, I also had:
A brief but pleasant standard R from Carina (on another story).
A brief but pleasant standard R from Woman's Weekly on a short story...
And, most sadly of all, a very nice R from the New York Agent who's been considering my first crime book since last November.
Oh, Sally, big hugs.
ReplyDeleteI've lost count of how many Rs I've had from 'Weekly's in the past. Keep that lovely chin up and be proud of how productive you've been getting all those things 'out there' in the first place.
I haven't tried an agent yet--lots of pain to come then I guess?!
Lots of love,
Rach.

Big hugs, Sally. Rs just really hurt and make chocolate very necessary. Stick with us and we'll sing Glee songs atcha until you crack and have to singalong (or not...) jx Kudos re agent in NY.
ReplyDeleteOh I'm sorry! That's the down side to writing, isn't it? Despite all the good things... there's always the dreaded R.
ReplyDeleteHugs!
Just goes to show perseverance pays but unfortunately we have to take the Rs on the chin too...
ReplyDeleteYou're doing great though Sally and I sense even greater things to come...
I get loads of R's. They're a fact of life, and it just shows you can please some of the people some of the time, but not everyone loves everything!
ReplyDeleteBut some really great people love what you're doing right now because you're a published writer. Definitely focus on the positives :-)
ReplyDeleteWell you hid it very well :) (HUGS) on the Rs :( I'm still celebrating all your success! So exciting! Can't blame you for focusing on it instead :)
ReplyDeleteHugs, Sally. But the successes were massive - so concentrate on them instead.

my thought exactly, Suz. Just wanted to inject some reality into the last few posts though!
